TUITION BACK GAURANTEE

In addition to our wide range of services and resources, we are now offering our 1st Semester Tuition Back Guarantee.

May 2022
Semester

We’ll refund your first-semester tuition if you are a new, first-time matriculating MD student who completed semester 1—including final exams—and earned a failing grade in a semester 1 course or module required to advance to semester 2.

FIRST-SEMESTER TUITION BACK GUARANTEE

RUSM is confident in our students and their ability to successfully transition to the rigorous demands of medical school. We believe in you and your ability to succeed so much so that we’re willing to refund your first-semester tuition if you don’t pass.

New, first-time matriculating MD students who complete semester 1, including final exams, and do not advance to semester 2 because they earned a failing grade in a semester 1 courses/modules required for advancement are eligible for the guarantee. Students eligible for the guarantee receive a reimbursement of tuition based on the following formula: tuition assessed minus institutional scholarships or grants received. Please note, only tuition is included in this guarantee, any fees and other expenses and/or charges are excluded.

REMOTE LEARNING OPTION

While we will continue to deliver our program in person on island in the May 2022 semester, we are excited to announce we are offering a remote option for first-time first-semester students for their first term only* to give them flexibility in learning options to start their medical education. RUSM is committed to providing medical students choosing to start online with the same knowledge and expertise that their classmates in Barbados will receive.

*The May 2022 semester remote option for new, first-time first semester students is contingent on the U.S. COVID-19 national emergency declaration and federal allowances. If the national emergency declaration and federal allowances are terminated prior to the end of the May 2022 semester, you will be required to complete your semester on island. The remote option is not offered to continuing students (semesters 2-5) or students repeating the first semester.

Students eligible for the guarantee receive a tuition reimbursement based on the following formula:

RUSM offers our students support through a myriad of personalized academic and wellness resources, including RUSM’s Academy for Teaching and Learning (ALT), which focuses on enhancing our students’ learning techniques and active learning skills. Students at RUSM can also take advantage of smaller study groups, career and personal counseling, and special accommodations for those with disabilities.

At Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM), our goal is student success. In addition to offering resources like RUSM’s Academy for Teaching and Learning (ATL), smaller study groups, and career and personal counseling, we are now willing to refund your first-semester tuition if you don’t pass.

We are proud to announce our 1st Semester Tuition Back Guarantee (Effective May 2022 Semester).

To qualify, you (the student) must complete the entire first semester, including final exams. The tuition refund excludes any fees and other expenses and/or charges such as housing, books and supplies, travel, etc.

What is the First semester tuition back guarantee?
WHAT IS THE FIRST SEMESTER TUITION BACK GUARANTEE?

Effective with the May 2022 semester, if a new first-time matriculating student does not succeed in their first semester, they are eligible to receive 100% of their paid tuition back—guaranteed.

  • Students must finish the entire first academic semester to be eligible, including final exams.
  • Excludes fees and other associated costs such as housing and materials.
  • If a student has received an institutional scholarship/grant award, only the portion of tuition that is not covered by the award will be refunded to the student.
  • A student who repeats the first semester and fails a second time will not be eligible.
  • Transfer students matriculating with advance standing to RUSM are not eligible.
  • Students who withdraw during their first semester before completion will be subject to prorated refunds as scheduled and outlined in the student handbook and catalog, and will not be eligible for the First Semester Tuition Back Guarantee.
