At Ross Med, we believe accessible medical care starts with accessible medical education. Our mission is to educate and provide opportunities to a talented and diverse population of students determined to make an undeniable impact on the communities they serve.
We offer a variety of scholarships* and resources to help aspiring doctors offset the cost of their medical education. Below are just a few of our available scholarships.
Ross Scholar Award
Up to $80,000 equally distributed over eight semesters, beginning in Semester 3.
Medical Education Scholar Award
Awarded to those who complete MERP and meet minimum requirements with an overall grade of 75% or higher. Up to $35,000 equally distributed over eight semesters beginning in Semester 3 of the MD program.
Opportunity Plus Scholarship
$40,000 equally distributed over 10 semesters beginning in Semester 1.
HBCU/HSI School Partnership Benefit
Pays for MERP tuition and Ross Med Semester 1 tuition for recipients who successfully complete MERP and enroll at Ross Med, or pays for Ross Med Semester 1 tuition for students who receive direct acceptance into Ross Med’s MD program.

RUSM students’ five-year cumulative first-time pass rate for the USMLE® Step 1 exam is 86.8% from 2019-2023.*
*First-time pass rate is the number of students passing the USMLE Step 1 exam on the first attempt divided by the number of students whose first attempt was in 2019-2023. In order to sit for the USMLE Step 1 exam students must successfully complete the Medical Sciences curriculum and earn a satisfactory score on the NBME CBSE exam as listed in the student handbook.

98% first-time residency attainment rate for 2023-2024 graduates**
**First-time residency attainment rate is the percent of students attaining a 2024-25 residency position out of all graduates or expected graduates in 2023-24 who were active applicants in the 2024 NRMP match or who attained a residency position outside the NRMP match.

Scholarships Available For Those Who Qualify
Ross is accredited by Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and other Health Professions (CAAM-HP). *
Accreditation by CAAM-HP is a rigorous, peer review process which examines all aspects of a medical program. The CAAM-HP board, an independent and autonomous body of professionals, only certifies medical schools that are operating at the highest levels of educational standards. Medical Education Readiness Program (MERP)
MERP is a 15-week online program designed to prepare promising applicants for success in medical school. MERP focuses on strengthening core academic areas with an emphasis on basic sciences. This program focuses on small group learning and study techniques. Students who successfully complete the program matriculate into the next first semester MD class.

At Ross Med we offer a holistic admissions process, reviewing not just grades and MCAT scores, but also your potential, character, and drive to be a physician. Our continuum of student support includes one-on-one coaching, workshops, peer tutoring, United States Medical License Examinations® (USMLE ®) Step exams prep, and transition assistance to Clinical Sciences, graduation, and residency.
